Value that is taken into account when it is necessary to prepare a group quotation. It is that part (in value) of the expected additional individual demand that you must give up to make room (if accepted) for a group booking. When a hotel accepts a group reservation, it may need to refuse a certain quota of non-group business (other segments). The revenue from this non-group is thus displaced. The question in this case is whether the accepted revenue is higher than that which has been declined. When it is not, the net displacement is negative. If a hotel accepts a bus tour to a low tariff for a given period, it runs the risk of negative displacement due to not having the rooms available for a more profitable group (or corporate) booking.
